The Petro Allied Health Center is an outstanding, multi-purpose facility for the training of students majoring in Kinesiology. The central focus of activity within Petro Center is Lee Arena (home court for Washburn's basketball and volleyball teams) which has a seven-lane composition track and courts for volleyball, basketball and badminton instruction/ participation. The facility also includes a 25‑meter, 6-lane swimming pool with 1- and 3-meter diving boards, a dance studio and a weight training room.

In addition to the Petro Center, the kinesiology department makes use of several other campus facilities for instructional purposes. Historic Whiting Fieldhouse provides additional gymnasium and classroom space, as well as an area for martial arts instruction. Outdoor facilities include six tennis courts, baseball/softball diamonds, soccer and football fields, a 400 meter track and areas for archery and golf. The department also uses community resources to enhance instruction, such as bowling lanes, golf courses, and racquetball courts.

Specially equipped laboratories enhance the preparation and learning experiences of kinesiology majors, as well as providing opportunities for service to the community. The exercise science laboratory houses fitness testing, motor learning and biofeedback equipment such as bicycle ergonometers, treadmills and temperature and electrodermal machines. A fully equipped athletic health center is used for the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to Washburn athletes, in addition to serving as a clinical site for hands‑on learning experiences for students in the athletic training major.
