Birthplace: Lansing, Michigan

Hometown: Lexington, KY

Undergrad College: Marshall University

Favorite Food: Homemade bread, good fruits/veggies, Starburst Jelly Beans

Favorite Activity: Volunteering

Favorite Movie: Shawshank Redemption; The Blind Side

Favorite TV Show: Downton Abbey

Favorite Thing About Washburn: I love being able to interact with students (past and present).

Favorite season: Fall (closely followed by spring)

Favorite color: Blue

If I was not a professor, I would: either be a teacher or a minister.

One piece of advice that students should know: The faculty in Biology (and Washburn in general) like to interact with their students.  We worry when students just disappear from our classes, or when they aren’t doing well and we celebrate when they succeed.
