I am a graduate of Washburn University twice over in 2001 and 2007. I have my BA in Applied Science (Human Services w/ Youth Services) and I received my Masters Degree in Social Work. I am going on my 1 year anniversary teaching HS 100 Orientation to Human Services in classroom and on-line. I worked with the City of Topeka for 13 years as Rec. Aid and Rec. Leader, and 6 years out of the 13 as an Asst. Director of Garfield and Oakland Community Center. I have worked for YMCA and YWCA Before end After School Programs, Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters, Let’s help, Catholic Charities, Resource Center for Independent Living, Family Services and Guidance Center, and etc… I am now working as an Outreach and Admission Counselor for Flint Hills Job Corps. (Through the US Department of Labor). I am a member of NAACP, Vice President of Topeka Sunset Optimist Club, Shawnee Co. Youth Transitional Council, International OCD Foundation, etc.. I have worked with over 100 different agencies around Kansas and the nation throughout my life so far. I would like to purse my Doctorate in Sociology at KSU sometime soon and become a Full-Time Tenure Professor in the future. I would also like to continue working in the public sector as an Urban Development Director or Outreach Director of some sort. I would love to continue to teach at Washburn for as long as I can, because I got my start in Human Services through the LINC office and one, Dr. Rick Ellis. (My mentor) I would also love to come back to Washburn and teach after I get my Ph.D ta boot.
