Washburn Terrace street sign
On the corner of 21st and Washburn, Washburn Terrace was home to family housing. Twelve one-story cinder block buildings provided inexpensive apartments starting in 1958. The street is still there, but the housing units were torn down in 2000.
Doors to post office boxes from Morgan Hall
Morgan Hall was built in 1955, at which time these mailboxes were installed. Heidi Crosland and Alan Doolittle at University Mailing and Printing Services fondly remember people talking to them, touching them or blowing cigarette smoke at them through the mailboxes. People became very attached to their mailboxes, and many bought them when they were removed from Morgan.
