Mr. Kidd has been with Washburn University since 1982, first in the capacity of Associate Dean of Students and then as Dean of Students. He is responsible for assisting students in a variety of ways including the academic reinstatement process, medical or military withdrawals, and difficult class room and living situations.
The Dean of Students administers and advises the student judicial program covering all areas of campus in order to help guide students toward personal responsibility and behavior consistent with Washburn University's Student Conduct Code. The university strives to provide an environment in which students may pursue their educational interests. Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which promotes learning and preserves academic freedom for all. The student handbook outlines student rights and the standards of conduct expected of students.
The Dean of Students serves on a number of campus committees including the Academic Probation, Suspension and Reinstatement Committee, the Medical Withdrawal Committee and the University Behavior Assessment Team.
Mr. Kidd received his Bachelor of Science in 1974 and Master of Science in 1982 from Kansas State University.
