ED 674 Special Topics Graduate Credit Course Overview

PBS TeacherLine (TL) is a set of standards-based graduate-level online courses available to K-12 teachers throughout the nation. These 15, 30 and 45 hour courses were developed under a five-year multi-million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Washburn University is a PBS-approved national graduate credit provider and will award 1-3 hours of ED 674 Special Topics graduate credit for the successful completion of the TL courses. More information about the TeacherLine program is available at http://www.pbs.org/TeacherLine/

Application of the TeacherLine Courses to a WU Education Graduate Degree Program

Current and former WU students may enroll in TeacherLine courses with the prior approval of their program advisors. The existing course substitution and registration process is used to allow courses to count toward program completion. A maximum of 9 credit hours of graduate credit prior may be applied to a Washburn University graduate program prior to admission. Program advisors will determine which TeacherLine courses will meet the requirements for a specific graduate program (e.g., TL courses that duplicate WU courses already completed by a student may receive credit but will not be applied to a degree program). Contact the WU Department of Education at 785-670-1427 for more information or visit the Department web site.
