The Mass Media program provides Washburn students with a rich diversity of courses in Creative Advertising, Contemporary Journalism, Film and Video, and Public Relations, designed to prepare students for media-related fields and graduate studies.
Consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Arts and Sciences, the Mass MediaDepartment strives, through teaching, research, creative activities, and service, to continuously improve teaching and advising, to meet community needs, and to extend the knowledge of media issues. The department aims to promote media literacy, freedom of expression and socially responsible communication.
Experienced professors and qualified professionals teach all of the mass media classes, placing strong emphasis on individualized attention and real-world experience.
