ITS provides video conferencing services for faculty and staff. We can assist you with connecting to multiple remote sites for videoconferencing or provide conferencing through use of Zoom or Adobe Connect licenses.
Interactive video conferencing is available for faculty and staff.. This technology provides two-way communication of audio, video, and data between multiple locations, on or off campus. The facility (Distance Learning Classroom) in Henderson room 9 accommodates 24 seats for videoconferencing.
Washburn University has licensed a new web/video conferencing service that enables users to have high quality video and audio conferences or meetings from laptops, desktops and other mobile devices with up to 25 attendees. It includes features like screen sharing and recording capabilities. Attendees (including students) are not required to have a license to join a WU hosted meeting, but they may acquire a free personal account from ZOOM.US if they so desire. Authorized WU hosts can invite up to 24 others into an interactive video or audio conference via an email. Those attending do not need to login. Zoom provides video, audio and screen-sharing across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, H.323/SIP room systems, and ZoomPresence. The system is also very intuitive and easy to use.
Web conferencing capabilities are also available through the Adobe Connect product. Faculty and staff at Washburn University and Washburn Institute of Technology can obtain an Adobe Connect license through Information Technology Services. Annual fees for the license(s) will be charged back to the requesting department.
