A new renewable award for out-of-state students
Washburn University is committed to making college affordable for everyone, including for students from outside the state of Kansas. The Interstate Advantage awards undergraduate students in the United States up to $393 per credit hour ($11,790 per year for a full-time student enrolled in 30 hours), beginning fall 2024. The renewable waiver can be combined with other awards, making the cost of a college education affordable. Qualifying is as simple as applying to Washburn.
A part of Together We Thrive
The Interstate Advantage is part of a financial aid package called Together We Thrive. Together with merit scholarships and other financial awards, the program creates an affordable path to earn your bachelor’s degree at Washburn.
The Interstate Advantage is renewable for freshmen at Washburn University up to four years (eight semesters) or until you complete your first bachelor’s degree. The award is renewable for transfer students for up to three years (six semesters) or until you complete your first bachelor’s degree. The Interstate Advantage covers the difference in tuition cost of up to 30 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters.
