International Student & Scholar Services

The Office of International Programs receives and processes initial applications from international students / scholars, and issues immigrations papers for their visa applications. After the students / scholars arrive on campus, the Office assists them in their social and academic growth, as well as providing advice on US immigration rules and regulations.

Important Dates:

Labor Day – September 7 – No classes and university offices are closed

International Club Pot Luck & Picnic - September 7, 6:00 p.m., International House.  Pizza will be provided but please bring a dish to the party to share with friends.  Games and activities to follow.  Don't forget to bring your camera!

President’s Reception for International Students – September 9 from 4-5 p.m. in Washburn A (Memorial Union)

Topeka City Tour (Cost: $5.00) - September 19 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Tour includes Farmer's Market, Capitol Tour, Chinese restaurant, Governor's Mansion, and Kansas Historical Society.  Sponsored by PAIS

Moon Cake and Tea Party - September 27, 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m, International House (Sponsored by the International Club)

Fall Break – October 3-6 – No classes (university offices will be open on October 5-6)

Kansas City Shopping Trip (Cost: $5.00) - October 3, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  All day shopping and lunch at Kansas City's largest shopping areas - 888 and Legends (Sponsored by PAIS)

Topeka Friendship Network Ranch Party – October 17 from 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Homecoming Parade, Tailgate and Game (Cost: $5.00) - October 24, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Meet behind the Village at 9:00 a.m. (coffee and tea will be served).  Wear traditional or Washburn clothes and show your pride.  150th Grand Tailgate before the game!  (Sponsored by the International Club)

Celebration of Cultures – October 30, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in White Concert Hall  (Sponsored by International Club and PAIS)

Kansas City Tour (Cost: $5.00) - November 14, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Kansas City Plaza, Nelson Atkins Art Museum, 888 (Sponsored by PAIS)
