… to develop the requisite knowledge, perspectives, and skills of both current and future campus leaders to achieve individual and organizational excellence.
Leadership Washburn offers a comprehensive professional development opportunity that explores leadership at Washburn University through content, networking, engagement, and applications. The holistic approach examines leadership in terms of the individual as well as leadership within a complex organization. The learning process includes presentations, experiential activities, group discussion, problem solving, and individual reflection.
The program requires significant commitment throughout the academic year that includes participation in a two-day orientation session, five full-day sessions, pre and post-session assignments, development of an individualized action plan, participation in other leadership professional development activities, a group project focused on organizational enhancement and problem solving, and a final presentation and awards session. The University online learning system will be used for assignments, course readings and resources, and other supplemental content. In addition to the program sessions, it is estimated that participants will devote six to eight hours per month completing readings and assignments.
