There are many opportunities to engage with fellow alumni and stay involved with Washburn University at any of our events held on campus, throughout Kansas and across the country.
The Alumni Association hosts a tailgate 90 minutes before every home football game just north of Moore Bowl in the tailgate parking lot. Look for "Washburn Alumni Association" tents.
During tailgates, we serve hot dogs, chips, cookies, water and beer free of charge to dues-paid members of the Alumni Association. The cost is $5 for non-members.

The Top of the Tower luncheon is held in downtown Topeka and provides networking opportunities with other Ichabods while hearing a speaker or panel discuss topics concerning Washburn and Topeka. The series is co-sponsored by the Washburn University Alumni Association and the Washburn School of Law Alumni Association. Watch for future Top of the Tower luncheons as they are announced.
Hundreds were on hand May 7, 2016, as the Ichabod baseball team hosted Central Missouri at Falley Field. The barbeque was free for dues-paid members of the Alumni Association and children age 12 and under. The cost for non-members was $5.

Washburn hosted Alumni Association events at Kansas City Royals games in September 2015 and June 2016. The two events drew hundreds of alumni and friends to Kauffman Stadium. The June 2016 event featured private motorcoach transportation from the Washburn campus to Kauffman Stadium and a pregame tailgate party. More than seven hundred people attended the tailgate and more than 800 purchased tickets in the two sections Washburn reserved for the game.

Washburn President Jerry Farley and the Alumni Association were in Phoenix on Feb. 20, 2016, and in Tucson on Feb. 21, 2016. Dozens of Ichabods in the area gathered to reminisce about Washburn and learn first hand about all the great things happening on campus. The Alumni Association was in Chicago on April 27, 2016, with Dr. Jerry Farley, president, Washburn University, and Thomas Romig, dean, Washburn University School of Law, along with hosts Bill Malloy, ba ’74, and Mary Hanisch, jd ’06, to network and reconnect with fellow Washburn alumni in the Chicago area.Check back for future events in Chicago.
Once every 18 months, the Alumni Association and alumnus Troy Stremming, bba '91, jd '94, host a gathering at the Ameristar Casino located at 200 N. Ameristar Drive, Kansas City, MO 64161.

The Alumni Association hosted a gathering at a wine-tasting event May 5, 2015, at the Eldridge Hotel on Massachusetts Street in Lawrence. Held in the Big 6 Room, the event included wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres at a cost of $20.
Each year, we travel to Colbert Hills and visit with Manhattan-area alumni and friends. Meet other Ichabods who live in the area and learn about all the great things happening on campus.
