Financial Aid

Washburn University recognizes the important role of financial aid in your decision to pursue higher education.  The Washburn University Financial Aid Office can assist you with the process of applying for and receiving financial aid, providing quality service and personal guidance to all students.  Visit the Financial Aid page for a wide array of information and resources.

Washburn University students have many financial aid options available to help with the cost of education, including work-study, student loans, grants and scholarships.  Funding sources include the federal government, the state of Kansas, Washburn University and the Washburn University Foundation.

To qualify for federal financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Washburn University’s federal school code is 001949.  If completing the FAFSA online, the student and one parent (for dependent students) will need to create a FSA ID.  The priority submission date is November 15.

Scholarship Info

Scholarships at Washburn University

The deadline for transfer academic scholarships is February 15th.  We will award beyond this date as funding is available. 

For transfer students, a complete application file includes the application for admission; a one-time, $20 application fee; and official transcripts from EACH post-secondary school the student has attended. Transfer scholarships are awarded based on transcripts received and no additional form is needed.
