Driving Directions:

PLEASE NOTE: Portions of 17th Street at campus (from Washburn to MacVicar avenues) will be under construction until December, 2013. The designated detour is 21st Street and the City of Topeka has posted official detour signs in the area. You can learn more about the project at our Major Construction information page. Thank you for your patience as we improve our campus for the future.

From the North: Take U.S. Highway 75 south to the Gage Boulevard Exit/I-70 East turnoff (Exit 358), taking the Gage Boulevard exit. Turn right on Gage and proceed south to 17th Street. Turn left (east) and follow 17th Street to MacVicar Avenue.

From the South: Take U.S. Highway 75 north the 42nd Street/ Burlingame Road exit. Turn left and drive to yield sign. Turn right on Burlingame Road (north) and follow Burlingame (which changes into Washburn Road) to 21st Street (approximately 20 blocks).

From the Southwest (I-335): Take I-335 north (Kansas Turnpike) to the South Topeka Exit (Exit 177). After leaving the toll area, continue straight. The highway will veer to the left and become I-470 west. Take the Burlingame Road exit (the first exit, Exit 5). Turn right (north) and follow Burlingame Road to 21st Street (approximately. 20 blocks).

From the East: Take I-70/I-470 (Kansas Turnpike) to the South Topeka exit (Exit 177). After exiting the toll area, continue straight. The highway will veer to the left and become I-470 west. Take the Burlingame Road exit (the first exit, Exit 5). Turn right (north) and follow Burlingame Road to 21st Street (approximately 20 blocks).

From the West: Take I-70 to I-470 East. Take I-470 to the 21st Street exit. Turn left (east) and follow 21st Street to MacVicar Avenue (approximately 30 blocks).

• Take the Topeka Metro: Washburn is accessible on the Red and Green routes.
• The nearest airports are Kansas City International (KCI) and Manhattan Regional (MHK)
• Topeka is accessible via Amtrak and Greyhound.

  Hot spots on campus:

• Admissions Office – Room 114 Morgan Hall, at 17^th Street and College Avenue. Visitor parking is available by turning south at College Avenue or Boswell Street to enter campus.
• Mulvane Art Museum – At 17^th Street and Jewell Avenue. Parking is available between Jewell Avenue and Plass Avenue
• Lee Arena and Petro Allied Health Center – 20^th Street and Mulvane Avenue. Parking is available in front of the arena. To access, enter from Washburn Avenue at 20^th Street or at Durow Drive. Or enter campus via Mulvane Avenue.
• Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl – College Avenue at 20^th Street. Parking is available in front of Lee Arena.
