Homecoming 2016

Homecoming 2016 is October 28-29. Weekend activities hosted by the Alumni Association and Washburn University Foundation include After Hours, a bonfire, pancake feed, a parade watch party, a tailgate picnic and bash after the football game. RSVP online for the pancake feed, tailgate or bash. Check out the University's Homecoming page for the full week's event schedule.


Friday, Oct. 28, 2016

After Hours - 5 p.m.

Reconnect with alumni, friends and others. Food, beer, wine and soft drinks provided.
Where: Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center
Cost: Free

Homecoming Bonfire and Pep Rally - 7:30 p.m.

Immediately following After Hours, the Marching Blues will pick up attendees at the Alumni Center and lead them to the bonfire and pep rally. Guests may also come straight to the bonfire. This tradition was brought back last year during Grand Homecoming.
Where: Practice Field Southwest of Yager Stadium
Cost: Free

Pancake Feed - 8 a.m.

This new tradition began last year and features Chris Cakes.
Where: Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center
Cost: $5 - RSVP online

Washburn University Foundation Parade Watch Party - 9:30 a.m.

Sit on the Foundation lawn and enjoy drinks and snacks with a prime view of the parade.
Where: Washburn University Foundation (1729 SW MacVicar Ave)
Cost: Free

Homecoming Game Tailgate Party - 11 a.m.

Join us for an enormous tailgate party before the Ichabod football team hosts Missouri Western. BBQ lunch buffet includes pulled pork, pulled chicken with sauce and frizzled onions, garden burgers, coleslaw, baked beans, homemade chips, iced sugar cookies, soft drinks or water.
Where: East lawn of the Memorial Union

Second Annual Bow Tie Bash - 4:30 p.m.

Immediately following the football game, come over to the Memorial Union for the Bow Tie Bash. The post-game party will include beverages, food stations and live music.
