The countdown is on to Washburn's sesquicentennial! Find out what's in store this year.About the sesquicentennial
When longtime professor and dean of women Charlotte Mendell Leavitt recommended non nobis solum as Washburn’s motto more than a century ago, she envisioned a school that had a tremendous impact on its students, alumni and the community.
As the university celebrates the countdown to our sesquicentennial in 2015, we continue to take the motto, translated as “not for ourselves alone,” to heart.
Washburn continues to give back to alumni and friends, from hosting signature events such as our Alumni Fellows and Awards programs, to our service to the community, to numerous other activities.
Serving more than 4,000 members, the Washburn Alumni Association nurtures and supports the relationship between alumni and the university.
We keep you informed on university activities and bring the alumni together to promote fellowship and serve your alma mater.
We also offer traveling opportunities several times a year, including trips to countries across the globe.
Take advantage of the opportunity to connect with Ichabods in the community while you're attending Washburn University or Washburn Institute of Technology.
Members of the Student Alumni Association receive the same benefits, including dozens of discounts, as members of the Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association also hosts events specifically for students and can help connect you to alumni already working in your chosen field.
Also, you must be a member of the Student Alumni Association if you are attending Washburn or Washburn Tech to apply for an alumni legacy scholarship.
For only $10 a year, you can join the Student Alumni Association.
You can help Washburn in a number of ways, including:
This year, we awarded about $30,000 in scholarships to legacy students. The deadline to submit an application is Feb. 15, 2015.Apply Now!
