In the Spring of 2014, the General Faculty at Washburn University approved the Associate of Liberal Studies (ALS) degree. The ALS offered through the College of Arts and Sciences is designed for students who desire a broad foundational degree which provides a valuable credential for career advancement and for further academic work.
Requirements for the ALS degree include a minimum 62 credit hours and 2.0 grade point average, 24 credit hours of university and general education requirements, and 12 credit hours of liberal studies course work.
A review of your WU transcript reveals that your completed coursework satisfies all the requirements for the degree. Your next step is to complete the Application for ALS Degree form which is available at the link above.
We hope you can participate in our Fall Commencement, which is December 12, 2014. Complete information can be found at washburn.edu/commencement, select fall ceremonies.
We would be happy to speak with you about your ALS degree or answer any questions you may have. Please contact Dr. Bruce Mactavish or Dr. Shaun Schmidt at (785) 670-1636 or email@example.com
