By choosing a career as an occupational therapy assistant, you will make a difference! You will be able to improve the lives of people, from newborns to the very old.
Students today can look forward to dynamic careers working in multiple settings with people of all ages. The employment outlook for occupational therapy assistants is bright. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected that the job outlook for occupational therapy assistants is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2022, (i.e. employment is expected to increase by 41%.)
One of the greatest advantages of a career as an occupational therapy assistant is the wide variety of opportunities available to graduates. Occupational therapy assistants may work: in the school systems; with individuals in their homes (home health); community centers; hospitals; rehabilitation hospitals; nursing homes; mental health centers; out-patient clinics and other health related areas.

Applicants, please note that if you are accepted to the OTA Program, there will be a mandatory Orientation Meeting. Official notification will be provided in your acceptance email.
NOTE: If you are not a current student of Washburn University, you will need to apply for the Summer session versus the Fall semester.
